Playing by ear

Discover the knack of playing without sheet music! The ability to ‘play by ear’ means you can play pretty much anything without needing to search for the music and then stare fixedly at it while you play. It’s a particularly good skill to have if you want to join in with a session or attend a style/technique workshop run by a musician you like!

This workshop will focus on how to properly learn a tune by ear – aka the ‘I have plenty of time and friendly neighbours’ method.

All participants must already be able to play a few basic tunes on their instrument (with sheet music is fine). Best for ages 11 upwards.
